Making sure they’re still relevant
Why is it important to regularly check your existing policies? There’s three reasons:
- Changes in legislation – employment law updates usually come in April, sometimes also in October, but we also get case law throughout the year, so its really important that you stay abreast of those changes to ensure your procedures are up to date.
- Changes in management or approach – you may then want to change the style in which your policies or procedures are written.
- Are they still relevant? We’ve seen so many over the years that are just a lot of waffle and nobody reads them, so make sure they are fit for purpose and actually needed.
